SCHOOL INFO

Our innovative indoor and outdoor foundational B&B Highway education and practical program features learnings and activities on:

Biodiversity (local and broader), native pollinators and pollination.

Data collection and interpretation through citizen science and urban heat measurements.

Pollinators and plants: Planting pollinator habitats with native, endemic species.

Construction of pollinator habitats: Example. stingless beehives, insect hotels and nesting boxes.

Three B&B Highway enrichment programs extend environmental learnings and skills-building.

  • B&B Belongings shines the spotlight on First Nations’ learnings and wisdoms on Country to share with communities.
  • B’Cool educates and provides strategies for climate resilience and Urban Heat Island impacts.
  • B&B Bites celebrates connections between plants, food and biodiversity.

Our program has clear links to curriculum and hands-on student workshops for pre, primary and high schools. Our complete package offers access to education(al) and horticulture experts, pollinator habitat, a licensed resource package, signage and our ongoing support.

The program has been supported by the NSW Department of Education for biodiversity resources (national use) and our citizen science program is supported by the Atlas of Living Australia hosted by the CSIRO.

Sessions can be delivered as half-day or full-day (also available virtually) incursion.

Further stand-alone sessions are also available on various topics both in-person and virtually.

By joining the B&B Highway on iNaturalist and the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA), your school can make valuable contributions to citizen science and biodiversity.
